Announcing Small Steps-Big Strides Childcare

Stow, OH—June 16, 2014; Kids-Play, 4530 Kent Road, one of Stow and the surrounding area’s most highly-respected and state-acclaimed daycare and childcare centers has been acquired in its entirety by Ernie and Kelly Pollak of Aurora, Ohio.  The newly-owned and operated facility will be known as Small Steps-Big Strides Childcare. [Details of the sale of the property and operating business have not been disclosed.] Small Steps-Big Strides is currently enrolling children for the new, greatly enhanced Summer Camp Program, to begin June 16, 2014.  A significant investment in the enhancement of the exterior and interior of the facility with emphasis on the safety and well-being of the students is underway, expected to be complete late in 2014.  The new owners are also introducing improved business management systems for overall efficiencies as well as investment in electronic technology for children’s learning and growing.

Small Steps-Big Strides is led by Kelly Pollak, the new Executive Director. Ms. Pollak has completed all necessary requirements in elementary education for license purposes from the State of Ohio. She holds both an MBA and Bachelor of Science in Finance from John Carroll University. Previously she was employed in the financial wealth management area.  “I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to focus my passion for both children and education into this wonderful facility with such great potential,” comments Ms. Pollak, while adding “we are dedicated to maintaining the same level of quality care to infants and children while infusing some critical enhancements to both the facility, food service, and the entire scope of curriculum and programs; with continued emphasis on education for both the staff and myself.”

The child-friendly, 10,000 square foot facility with its unique, light-infused, interior dome play-area, individual age-related curriculum rooms, and infant center, has the capacity for more than 170.  Ages range from 6 months to 11-years old.
